I decided it was time that I created a blog for me too. I enjoy keeping the one for my pups, but there are so many things that I would like to share that I wouldn't put up on their blog. I won't promise that I will post very often. I haven't kept up with theirs too much lately. But I will try to get here at least every week or so.
I cannot believe that it is already May 1. This year has flown by incredibly fast for me. It has already been a whole month since I lost my Dad to COPD. Sometimes that still seems to be a bit surreal to me. I am so glad that my Mom is adjusting as well as she is. I am so grateful that she doesn't live alone. Her oldest sister (who is 87---my Mom is the baby and is 70) lives with her as well as my brother who to his regret will turn 49 the 6th of this month. He is disabled and has lived with my parents his whole life. I know it is a comfort for her to have both of them there. She also has Dad's little dacshund Tanika. I only live about a mile from her so I get over just about every day.
This is going to be such a busy month. Along with the current Swine Flu scare (joy of joys I live in South Texas!) I am looking forward to my oldest son's graduation from the United States Naval Academy. My husband, youngest son and I plan to drive out to Annapolis and my mother-in-law is going to fly out and meet us there. I have been trying to convince my mom to go along with us but so far she hasn't budged. She is using my Dad's dog as an excuse to stay. I know that my Dad wanted to be there so bad though and would have loved for her to go. We still have a couple weeks before we leave so maybe I can get her to change her mind.
The picture I have up of me and my sons is not current. It was taken Christmas of 2006. I need to get a more current one but I absolutely hate to have my picture taken. I will post lots of pictures from the graduation when we get back though. This trip should be so much fun! The President is going to speak at the Commencement and the Blue Angels are supposed to fly over! I am so excited!
Well, I have rambled enough for now. Hopefully next time I post I will have something to say worth reading, lol...
